Men’s Basketball Bows Out in Second Round of NCAA Tournament

The men’s basketball team saw their remarkable season come to an end on Saturday, March 7, when they fell to third ranked Randolph-Macon College, 85-71, in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Softball wins two, lose four straight

The softball team swept the doubleheader against DeSales University on March 4 before losing doubleheaders to the University of Lynchburg and Salisbury University on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, respectively.

The last time the men’s basketball team won the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship, most of the players on this year’s roster were not even born yet. But on Saturday, Feb. 29, the Lions topped Stockton University 75-60 and won their first NJAC Championship in 22 years.

The women’s basketball team was bested 82-62 by Rowan University in the first game of the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinals on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Men’s basketball secures No. 1 seed

With a 87-76 victory over William Paterson University on Wednesday, Feb. 19, the men’s basketball team won the regular season title in the New Jersey Athletic Conference for the first time since the 1997-1998 season. The win locked the College in the No. 1 seed in the tournament, as well as a bye to the semifinals.

Women basketball team advances to NJAC championship

In an exhilarating 67-59 overtime victory over William Paterson University in Packer Hall on Saturday, Feb. 22, the women’s basketball team advanced to the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinals. The Lions are seeking their first NJAC championship since the 2008-2009 season.

Lions’ winning streak stretches to 5 games

With a 13-4 record in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, the men’s basketball team has earned a first-round bye in the conference tournament, which will begin on Saturday, Feb. 22. With the College tied for first place with Stockton University, the seedings for the tournament will not be made final until the end of regular season play on Wednesday, Feb. 19. However, the Lions will be hosting one of the semifinal games on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Packer Hall.

With three games left in the regular season, the men’s basketball team finds itself tied for first place with Stockton University in the New Jersey Athletic Conference standings, holding a 14-8 record and 11-4 in conference play. The Lions notched two more crucial victories this past week, beating Rutgers University-Camden, 77-64, and taking care of Ramapo College, 82-56.
