When I look at myself in the mirror, I am amazed, not by my beauty or by how many pimples are covering my face, but by the experiences my body has carried me through for the past 20 years of my life.

‘Newtown’ documentary shows aftermath of the tragedy

The documentary included commentary from a few of the victims’ families, specifically from the families of 7-year-old Daniel Barden, 6-year-old Dylan Hockley and 6-year-old Benjamin Wheeler. Each of the families discuss how their lives have changed since the tragedy and how they plan to live for their children and honor their memories.

‘SVU’ investigates 400th grisly case

Keeping with the show’s theme, the episode was gruesome and disturbing, yet eye-opening. While the characters solve their 400th mystery, it also gave me a glimpse of their personal lives, like Sergeant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her young son, Noah, an orphan she recently adopted.

‘Before I Fall’ tells uniquely grim tale

This riveting novel made me invested in what the characters were doing, as I tried to figure out what truly was underneath Sam’s death. It kept me alert and vigilant at all times, and I did not want to put it down.

‘Passengers’ takes audiences to new heights

What makes this film interesting is the balance of the elements of love, suspense and drama. The characters face choices each day that affect their future. There is also a light amount of humor sprinkled throughout the film to add to my overall love of the story.
