From the Roberts: How to dress for Valentine’s Day

By Raquel Roberts and Samantha Roberts

With Feb. 14 right around the corner, we know the women of the world are beginning to fret about what to rock on V-Day. Ladies, don’t you worry. Whether you’re having a girls’ night in or heading out with a hot date, it’s possible to look effortlessly phenomenal.

If you’re like McKenna Dick, sophomore health and exercise science major, then you’re planning to spend the holiday out with your valentine. McKenna’s look of choice for the occasion is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy.

Her high-necked, cream blouse, tucked into her black circle skirt is completely charming. She adds some spice to her outfit via a pair of sexy tights. McKenna’s tights of choice are opaque up to the knee, have a scalloped edge, and then run sheer. She tops off her killer outfit with a pair of black suede booties.

Keep reading to find out how to make Mckenna’s sweet but sultry outfit into a look of your own (of course without breaking the bank).

Recreate Mckenna’s look by pairing these sexy Urban Outfitters tights with any black skirt (our personal favorite is the Lulu’s Tulip skirt). We swapped out McKenna’s charming cream blouse for a red top that’ll help ring in the Valentine’s Day spirit. This Tobi off-the-shoulder top is the perfect combination of sexy and classy — a look we really respect. To finish off the outfit, add a pair of these killer booties. With an outfit like this, we doubt your date will be able to keep his eyes off of you!

But not all of us gals have a hot date night lined up for V-day. If you’re like freshman education and sociology major Andrea Palermo, you’ll be spending your Valentine’s Day kicking back with some of your girlfriends (having a Valentine is completely overrated anyway).

Andrea’s outfit of choice for her night in with her girls is both simple and chic. Andrea pairs an oversized, knit Urban Outfitters sweater with a pair of statement burgundy leggings from Cotton On (perfect for Valentine’s Day, right?) Andrea finishes up this look by throwing on her favorite beanie, a plethora of silver accessories and her favorite pair of distressed combat boots.

How are you spending your Valentine’s Day? If you’re planning to have a in, then keep reading to find out how you can create the perfect go-to outfit:

Throw on a pair of ASOS burgundy leggings and this oversized Urban Outfitters sweater that is trimmed with lace. Complete the look with a pair of heeled lace up boots, your favorite beanie, and the Urban Renewal Hobo Bag to add a little bit of flair: a look that is completely effortless and perfect for the occasion.

Happy Valentine’s Day, ladies!
