Two months ago, the College’s Mayo Concert Hall was filled with an audience listening to students perform a variety of musical instruments and songs. Today, it’s empty and silent.
As the lights dimmed and the director walked onstage in Mayo Hall, the audience’s whispered chatter turned silent, waiting to hear the group of students begin their performance.
Mayo Concert Hall hosted another Tuesday Afternoon Recital on Feb. 18. There were four student musicians, who each performed on a different instrument and were accompanied by Kathy Shanklin, one of the College’s collaborative pianists.
It was a busy night at Kendall and Mayo Concert Hall for the College’s music department, as 250 high school students arrived and were split into two concerts that both performed at 8 p.m.
Claiming the stage at Mayo Concert Hall on Nov. 22, the College’s percussion ensemble showcased a wide range of student talent that captivated the audience with a variety of instruments, themes and emotions.
The Kendall Hall Main Stage Theater was filled with jazz, solos and a wide showcase of talent as the TCNJ Jazz Ensemble gathered for its concert on Nov. 15.

The melodies of the TCNJ Orchestra rang through Mayo Concert Hall on March 13 at 8 p.m. as the audience was surrounded by a beautiful blend of strings, woodwinds and brass instruments. The performance, titled “Fragments,” showcased the orchestra’s talent, collaboration and hard work.
