Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the pop-punk band Paramore, thrilled fans with the release on May 8 of her full-length solo album, “Petals for Armor.”
Under the constant tonal hum of the speaker’s low, steady fuzz of feedback, students gathered to witness four bands take control of a stage that could barely fit all of the band members.

Students were eager to catch a glimpse of CUB Alt’s third show this semester in the Brower Student Center on Friday, Sept. 21. Opening band Free Cake for Every Creature got the crowd amped up with their indie pop tunes, and conversely, headlining singer-songwriter Mree got the crowd to unwind and relax with her indie folk music.
This album is doing what many others struggle to do –– have a song that the fans can relate to without becoming a collection of cacophonic songs that never build into a cohesive unit.
Outside the closed doors of room 100W of the Brower Student Center, a line of students stretching over the steep staircase located by the east entrance waited to be seated.
