Wrestling dominates Lycoming in front of alumni

The men’s wrestling team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, Feb. 1, defeating Lycoming College 35-4 on Alumni Day. The win marked the 13th win in a row and 14th on the season for the Lions.

Wrestling places 12 at Invitational

During a two-day meet from Friday, Nov. 15, to Saturday, Nov. 16, the College placed third among 17 teams at the Roger Williams Invitational.

Wrestling starts season with win

On Saturday, Nov. 9, the College’s wrestling team traveled to Troy, N.Y., where it faced Castleton University, Ithaca College and Johnson & Wales University in the Journeyman Duals.

Budzek wins NCAA title

The Lions traveled to Roanoke, Virginia on Friday, March 8 to compete in the NCAA Championships. The team took eighth place overall. Senior Ryan Budzek, junior Dan Kilroy and sophomore Jake Giordano took the competition by storm.

Team send five to nationals

On Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24 the wrestling team traveled to Brockport, New York to compete in the NCAA Regionals, where it advanced nine wrestlers to the finals.

Lions claim two weight class titles

On Sunday, Feb. 17 the wrestling team traveled to Muhlenberg College to compete in the Futures Tournament. The College placed 12 wrestlers on the day with two winning titles.

Wrestling dominates weekend matches

The wrestling team went on the road on Friday, Feb. 8 to face Delaware Valley University and host Messiah College in a dual meet the next day.

Wrestling adds to win streak

On Friday, Feb. 1, the Lions took on Centenary University, which they beat 28-12. The next day, the team went on the road to participate in the Messiah College Open, competing against more than 30 universities from the northeast.

Wrestling pins 13 straight wins

Over winter break, the wrestling team had a huge winning record, improving to 13-1 overall.

According to nj.com, on Dec. 20, as a 16-year-old wrestler from Buena High School was preparing for a match against his opponent from Oakcrest High School, he could not begin to imagine what would be asked of him before he stepped foot on the mat.

The wrestling team traveled to York College to compete in the New Standard Invitational on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1.

Lions fall to York in a close match

On Nov. 16, the Lion’s wrestling team took on York College of Pennsylvania in a regular season dual match.

Wrestling takes third at McGinley Tournament

Before the wrestling team began its 2018 season, the team competed in a public event preseason match against each other in the Blue/Gold Intersquad on Oct. 26 to determine the team’s starting wrestlers.
