Motivation can be found without competition

The lights of the Rutgers University natatorium seemed to be shining brighter than ever on the last night of the Metropolitan Conference Championships. I stepped up on the starting block to swim the 200-yard butterfly for my last race of the season. For the second straight year, I finished in 16th place and our team once again finished in second place, just shy of winning a championship.

Swim falls to Rowan on senior day, loses in NJAC conference championship

The College’s men’s and women’s swim teams hosted Rowan University in a highly anticipated matchup on Senior Day, Saturday, Jan. 25, which decided the winners of the NJAC title. The men’s hot start was not enough, as they lost 161-139. The women continued to show heart, but fell 180-114.

Swimming finishes in top tier at METs

After a season full of close races, the men’s and women’s swim teams competed in the Metropolitan Conference Championships from Friday, Feb. 22 to Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Rutgers University Aquatics Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Lions swim through disappointing break

The swimming and diving teams swam in several meets over winter break. The men faced two teams while the women took on three opponents.

People should confront their fears

Two years ago, I decided to face my fear. I charged into the waves, and ducked my head underneath the water. At first, I felt a pang of anxiety, but when my head popped back up, breaking through the surface, I felt like I could finally breathe again.
