College community reflects on life of Chadwick Boseman

The world mourned the unexpected death of actor and activist Chadwick Boseman on Friday, Aug. 28. Known for such iconic roles as Jackie Robinson in “42,” James Brown in “Get on Up” and T’Challa in “Black Panther,” Boseman continued to work through his private battle with colon cancer since his diagnosis in 2016.

Students at the College are tired of remaining silent. Several emerging Instagram accounts are inviting students to anonymously recount the times when they’ve faced microaggressions, exclusion and sometimes blatant discrimination on the College’s predominantly white campus.

College releases ‘Campus Pulse’ survey: what you need to know

The College released the anonymous “Campus Pulse” survey results on Thursday, June 11, through a campus-wide email sent by newly-appointed Vice President for Equity and Inclusion James Felton III. College President Kathryn Foster released the survey to students, faculty and staff in November 2019.

Administration combats Bible Believers’ return with celebration of diversity

A single microphone was placed atop the steps leading to Green Hall’s main entrance, with a buzzing crowd of campus community members below waiting to speak and listen. The building’s long hallways extending past the central clock tower were reminiscent of outstretched arms in a supportive embrace as the upbeat background music was lowered, and several speakers prepared to discuss their personal interpretation of the phrase, “When they go low, we go high.”
